FABI Course Project

The SPED 743 course—Methods: Functional Behavioral Assessment, Positive Behavior Support, and Classroom Management—culminated in the FABI Assignment, an intensive eight-week, team-based project. Following a structured, data-driven approach, we applied a functional assessment-based intervention (FABI) to a real or hypothetical student. This process involved identifying the target behavior, assessing it, collecting baseline data, and designing and implementing an intervention tailored to the function of the behavior. This hands-on project provided an opportunity to develop practical skills in behavior analysis, intervention design, and classroom management. The final product is accompanied by checklists 1-5, outlining each step in developing the intervention plan.
